 ‘Noir’

Daniel Kok Galery presents an exhibition titled ‘Noir’ to coincide with the Hermanus Fynarts Festival from 9 – 18 June 2017.  (After the festival the show will be extended to conclude in July).
The ’Noir’ genre is explored with references to a lucid beauty that transcends from obscurity.    
Artists include: Hanien Conradie, Richard Strydom, Steven Bosch, Louis Nel, Adele Potgieter, Kelly John Gough, Rossouw van der Walt, Ruhan Janse van Vuuren, Peter Mammes, Paula van Coller Louw, Gerhard Human, Madelein Marincowitz, Mandy Herdien, Marieke Kruger, selected works by inmates from the Victor Verster Prison in Paarl, Ric Holt, Laurinda Belcher and Hermanus artists Hennie Niemann Snr. and Therese Rink-Streicher among others.
A special focus on Jewellery Design will be presented at the gallery during the festival in the ‘My Africa Design’ feature.
Specific designers were identified to collaborate with the ‘Noir’ themes in mind and include: York van Rheede van Oudshoorn, Anna Raimondo, Zunette Mulder, Ilse Malan, Firepetals, Adi Cloete and Giselle Petty among others.
Renowned Pinot Noir Wines from the surrounding Hemel-en-Aarde Valley will be paired with a selection of artworks during the festival and a multi-sensory experience is anticipated with Creation and Spookfontein.
